🧸 1. Toddler-Friendly Travel Backpack
We packed all of Bubba’s flight essentials into a small backpack that fit under the seat. I used pouches inside to keep everything organized—one for snacks, one for toys, one for diapers and wipes. Game-changer.

📚 2. Books About Planes and Travel
We read a plane-themed board book while waiting at the gate, and again during takeoff. It helped him understand what was happening and eased any nervousness.

Out of everything we packed, the reusable sticker book was the MVP. Quiet, screen-free, and lasted way longer than I expected. We did this for 20+ minutes straight!

🎧 4. Noise-Canceling Headphones for Toddlers
We used toddler-sized noise-canceling headphones for Bubba when he had to fly at just 6 weeks old. Back then, they helped buffer the loud engine noises and sudden sounds that can easily overwhelm babies.
Now that he’s older, he’s not really bothered by the noise anymore—he was happy just looking out the window and playing quietly. But I did notice a few other toddlers on the plane who seemed more sensitive, and their headphones really helped them stay calm and settled.
Mama tip: If your toddler is easily startled or sensory-sensitive, these might be worth packing just in case. Try letting your toddler wear the headphones at home a few times before the trip so they’re familiar with how they feel.

🍓 5. Bento Snack Box and Spill-Proof Cup
Snacks are the ultimate distraction! I packed a variety—cut fruit, crackers, puffs—and used a spill-proof sippy cup for water. Just avoid anything too sticky or crumbly.

🧻 6. Changing Pad + Travel Wipes
Airplane bathrooms are tiny. I kept a thin changing pad and pack of wipes in an easy-access pouch so I didn’t have to dig around. Bring more diapers than you think you’ll need—just in case.

Every toddler has their own version of comfort—and for Bubba, that’s nursing and his beloved Pixar Cars. He doesn’t usually reach for loveys or fidget toys, but having something familiar in hand helped him stay calm and grounded during the flight.
If your little one isn’t nursing anymore, bringing a favorite toy, plushie, or even a sensory item can really help—especially in new, noisy environments like a plane.
